This, That, & A Thing

Some of you may know that I have been having trouble with the number plate light on my car. It was replaced with a LED unit, but that burned out, and I was waiting for the shop to order the part.

I became tired of waiting.

I ordered it from Amazon, and it arrived without any problems. The one I had was the xenon white LED, but this time I ordered the blue one. I was planning to install it myself. But before I started cutting wires, I thought I would look as to how the shop installed the light. Taking off the decklid panel is not a job for one person, no matter how strong you are, but I did it. I could see that the installation is way too complicated for me to attempt. It would look like a hack job, and I know that annoys mechanics.

I had met a guy in my complex named Ken and he happens to be a mechanic. He came by while I was washing my bus yesterday, and I asked him if he could install the light. He went home to get his tools, and in the end, he did a great job! Much better than the shop did. Lots of heat shrink to protect the splice and the wire from moisture; and this time, only the black wire is visible, as opposed to the red and black wires from before. It is also a little easier to open the decklid now that there is a little more room for my fingers to reach the latch. However, I should have had the foresight to ask him to heat shrink the exposed wire to protect it from the elements. I noticed that he put a grommet on the light assembly to keep moisture out. I think being exposed to the elements is the reason why the original burned out. Some moisture may have gotten into the assembly and caused the light to burn out. Today, I wrapped the lone wire with electrical tape as best I could, and put it on a small shelf above the number plate That should keep it away from the rain and snow. At least I hope it will.

I saw the above article in my feed and it is too distressing to talk about. All I will say that you better believe that was no accident. The accursed elitists and our sham of a government are behind this. Good thing I know people who sell eggs locally. I’m seriously thinking about ordering an emergency food supply from products.4patriots.com.

This past Saturday, I met with an old workmate at the local coffee shop. This must be the only one in the county that is connected to my local library. It opened this year, and so far, it is as popular as Starbucks. My former workmate has not lost a step. She looks beautiful for a woman that is 67 years young. I am guessing that the secret to her youthful beauty is that she goes on hikes, goes to the gym, and rides her bike. I had a café caramel just to try it out, but after the first sip, it was clearly not the same one that I drink at home. This one was a lot stronger, but a few hundred drops of sugar free sweetener took away some of the bite. That’s why I don’t go into coffee shops. Their coffee is way too strong for me. Anyway, we were there for a few hours talking and enjoying the ambiance. I really wanted to tell the baristas to turn the music down. No need to blast music at 11am, and the library is on the other side of the double doors. There was lots of eye candy also, and, as usual, I was the only person of colour there. I gave myself a pat on the back for not staring at my phone for the whole time I was with her. That would have been disrespectful. Unfortunately, our time came to an end, as she has a great many things to do, so we said our goodbyes. I went into the library to look for DVD’s.

As I walked up to the adult reference desk, I saw my friend Christina! She is one of the library staff members that I know well. I have not seen her in months. I spend so much time in there that the librarians know me. She had been sick for a long time. That day, she was a totally different person. So bubbly, so much energy, and she looked different. It was so wonderful to see her walking without a cane. We did talk for a bit, but I easily could have stood there gushing like a busted dam, and I needed DVD’s to borrow and I needed to go to Wal-Mart. I settled on season two of Ally McBeal since season one was out, and seasons one and two of Game of Thrones. I wanted Airport and Out of This World, but they were not available at all.

And this week I have an appointment to take my stress test at the cardiology centre. I’m not in the mood for it right now. I plan on changing the appointment. The very idea of running on a treadmill at top speed whilst wearing a face diaper and starving for air makes no damn sense to me. I might as well be breathing through a straw! Ugh, whatever. I should shaddup now.

Thanks for making it this far. You can leave a comment if you’re so inclined. I’ll just veg out in my chair. Have a good evening.
